Good advice

Here is the text.

This is President Monson, the current prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. I love him. He makes me smile and laugh. I feel like he really gets what I am going through, what is going on outside of Salt Lake.

This is a long talk. It is almost 25 minutes long. There is so much to get from it though. Please take the time to listen or read the text. It is so very good.

I love the parts where he is making fun of men of marrying age who simply are choosing otherwise. He talks about things to avoid. Addictions that you don't need to have in your life.

If you have ever felt like women are demeaned in a church setting. Maybe you think men are propped up in a church setting. Please start listening around the 14:30 minute mark. He speaks so lovingly and sweetly about women. Keep in mind this address was delivered to a group of men. He wasn't speaking to women. He was trying to make sure that husbands and potential husbands understand how to treat their wives.

I loved this quote. Choose your love; love your choice.

President Howard W. Hunter said this about marriage: “Being happily and successfully married is generally not so much a matter of marrying the right person as it is being the right person.” I like that. “The conscious effort to do one’s part fully is the greatest element contributing to success.”  Wow. Gonna have to work on that.
