Story hour at the library on Wednesday was dedicated to learning Spanish. A friend of mine from church volunteered to come in and teach. She did a great job. Here is a brief bit of her presentation.
" Padre is father. Sometimes they also say Papa'. Accent on the last "a". If you just says papa without an accent that is the word for potato." I didn't know that. I thought it was a neat tidbit.
It appears that is about all Naomi got from the lesson, though her version was a bit skewed.
Later, while talking to someone else's father about what she learned in Spanish she informed him that the Spanish word for father is potato.
Take some time today, tell your potato how much you love him.
