I'm surprised you support this, it seems like a horrible thing to panhandle for. It would cost significantly less to get a certification as an EMT or a CNA.
True, but I also actually know this person. I also know that I would not want to work as an EMT or as a nurse while trying to be a raise a child alone. That would be awful. I have no problem giving someone money who has found something they are passionate about and are actively working at. She has been through some hard times and I don't mind helping how I can.
